Three Wheeled Buggies

Recent figures have been released that show that the three-wheeled vehicle - a symbol of the noughties of more money than sanity is on the verge of disappearing. Four-wheelers have replaced them, and are more versatile and easy to drive, while also looking stylish.
The larger the wheels are, the better your buggy can deal with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. With larger wheels front and back also makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it was able to withstand grass, cobbles, rough roads, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push, and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require periodic pumping) come with suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my children.
Another thing to think about is the seat size and shape. You'll want it to be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort and you will also want it to be able to recline so that they can lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies offer a lie-flat option that allows the child to face you, while others only allow a face-to-parent one.

Wheels with a greater diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving over rough terrain. This is perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. They also help you move the pushchair around tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability at the speed at which they can be pushed. This is especially useful when you crash into a tree or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.
Many 3 wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres. This means they are able to handle different terrains and are far more flexible than four wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are more prone to punctures, so you will require a repair kit and spare inner tube on hand.

These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which, she says "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also have suspension that, according to Kath "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite large, and can be difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is an issue when you're using it for a jogger or to to get through doors that are narrow when out and about. Luckily, most models have small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to make compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheeler can be easier to maneuver with a child. They are designed so that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to navigate, making them ideal for challenging terrain such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her infant and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough ground and the swivel front wheel being particularly helpful. I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when going downhill or over uneven ground."
The only downside of this great maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean that it can be difficult to maneuver in tight spaces - something to keep in mind if you live in a city area. If this is a problem, a 4-wheeled buggy may be the better option for you.
